New York Fashion Week has come to and end, for now. My top two favorite collections was 1) Marc Jacobs and 2) Zimmermann.
Marc Jacobs grew up watching movies at the Ziegfeld theatre as a native New Yorker. What better place to showcase his colleciton in a place where fantasy meets reality? The marquee of the theatre listed "Marc Jacobs: One Night Only!".
The venue had fountain drinks, ushers dispensed "playbiills" from machinces. while "cigarette" girls offered candy. This show brought many back to memory lane.
I'm here for the fun, interaction, nostalgia, American history, and ofcourse the fashion.

Zimmermann
Designer Nicky Zimmermann is an Austrailia native. Inspired for her ss16 collection by a book publushed in 1894 called " Seven Little Austrailians". The book was about a family of seven that were escaping the difficult situations of the country.

Zimmermann's show evoked a Victorian 1800's vibe. The collection was very soft, and elegant. While Marc Jacob's collection was loud and fun.
NYFW was full of many looks, inspirations, and interpretations. But these two designers were able to evoke more appreciation of the importancce of history, culture, and fashion combined. SS16 will be an exciting time for fashion!
